Blackberry Desktop Software not only allows you to sync files with your desktop, it also provides email support, allows for quick organization changes and much more. Use this step-by-step tutorial in order to install Blackberry Desktop Software on your Windows based Operating System.
Downloading and Installing Blackberry Desktop Software
Visit the official Blackberry Desktop Software page and click on the "Download" link.
You will now see a phrase that reads: "To view software for a BlackBerry product, please select a product from the drop down menu and click Select." Use the dropdown list to choose the Blackberry Desktop Software currently available. We recommend choosing the newest version of the software then clicking "Next."
Under the "Next" button after you click it you will see several download links. We recommend choosing the option that includes "With Media Manager" in the title. Click on that download link and you will be brought to the registration page. Fill out the registration information and click on the acceptance form stating that all of the information you entered is valid. Click on the "Next" button.
Click "Agree" on the next page and click "Next." Click the "Download" link and then choose to save the file to your desktop. The file size typically sits around 200MB which can take hours to download via slower connections. Let the program run until complete.
Double Click on the downloaded link and you will be brought to the installer. Follow the directions just as you would with any other Microsoft Windows Application. Once the application has completed installing click on the application from your desktop to launch the program.
***Special Note For Mac Users: Mac Users can use the "PocketMac" application for Blackberry. The program can be downloaded here. Simply follow the same steps to retrieve the software and then use the Mac installer just as you would with any other application by following the install steps and reading the directions as they show up on your screen. Launch the application just as you would with any other Mac App.
You'll know if the install was successful if the Blackberry Desktop App opens. Here's a screenshot from the most recent version of the software:
